Course Title: 1 day First Aid Essentials and Emergency First Aid at Work

 

This course is suitable for anyone wanting to gain a 1 day First Aid Essential workplace First Aid Qualification.

 

Length of course: Six hours.

 

Aims & Objectives: To empower the learner with the knowledge and skills to become an Emergency First Aider in the workplace.

By the end of the course the student will be competent in:

  • Accident management

  • Correct use of emergency services

  • Own safety

  • Assessing, reporting/recording accidents

  • Comprehension of basic first aid

  • Assessment of the unconscious patient

  • Recovery position

  • Resuscitation techniques

  • Hypoxia

  • Epilepsy

  • Contents of first aid box

  • Control of bleeding

  • Shock

  • Burns

  • Minor illnesses

  • Completion of an Accident Report From

*Competency will be assessed throughout the course and a 20 question multiple choice paper is required to be completed by each delegate.

Training is appropriate for the following groups: Anyone wanting to gain a workplace Emergency First Aid at Work qualification.

 

Course Title: First Aid at Work (Requalification) 

 

Length of Course: Two days.

 

To be eligible to attend this course you will need to produce your original/current First Aid at Work certificate as proof of attendance on a 2/3 day course. Please read the terms and conditions before booking.

 

Aims & Objectives: To empower the learners with the knowledge and skills to become First Aiders in the workplace. By the end of the course the student will be competent in:

  • Fractures – strains/sprains

Course Title: First Aid at Work

 

Length of course: Three days

Course Title: Paediatric First Aid

 

Length of Course: 12 hours – usually delivered either on consecutive days or split over
two weekends.

 

Aims and Objectives:

  • To comply with OFSTED recommended criteria for Paediatric First Aid training.

  • To provide child carers with an increased awareness and confidence in dealing with specific issues with children and trauma in first aid training. 

 

By the end of the course the student will be competent in:-

  • Emergency action planning

  • Resuscitation techniques

  • Dealing with an unconscious child

  • Airway and breathing problems

  • Wounds and bleeding including eye injuries/conditions

  • Shock

  • Poisons and burns

  • Strains, Sprains and dislocations

  • Fractures including spinal injuries

  • Extremes of body temperature

  • Childhood Illnesses

  • Head injuries, Meningitis, Epilepsy, Sickle Cell, Diabetes

  • General Advice

  • Training is appropriate for the following groups: Suitable for people who work with children up to eight years old. It meets Ofsted requirements for Registered Childminders and Nannies. 

  • Childminders and home child carers

  • Early years and preschool carers and teachers

  • Teachers

  • After-school and sports club organisers
